LocoTech-Signal to Supply the CTRL@LOCK 200 System for the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant

LocoTech-Signal (part of Transmashholding) has supplied the CTRL@LOCK 200 computer-based interlocking system for the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant (TMP) which was commissioned on December 4, 2020. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov took part in the opening ceremony.

The project for the automation of railway processes at TMP was fully implemented in less than 2 years and included the supply of:

– 14 switches;

– 24 shunting signals;

– 36 axle counter sensors.

The quick implementation of the project was made possible due to LocoTech-Signal’s international cooperation with MetProm (Russia), LocoTech-Signal Asia (Kazakhstan), and Integral Asia (Uzbekistan). The CTRL@LOCK 200 wayside devices and station equipment was directly coordinated by Muslim Mirzayev (Integral Asia).

Implementing the CTRL@LOCK 200 interlocking system at the TMP will reduce shunting time, increase the volume of cargo sent, cut the costs of maintaining the rolling stock, and fully eliminate the possibility of emergency situations.

“Most industry enterprises do not use automated train control systems, saying that they want to save the budget. But our analysis showed that while they gained in the short term, they later faced great financial losses with a sharp decline in occupational safety and falling profits. Implementing modern microprocessor-based interlocking systems helps mitigate these risks,” said Arthur Keyan, Sales Director at LocoTech-Signal.

The CTRL@LOCK 200 computer-based interlocking system is built on the basis of Schneider programmable logic controllers and is designed to automate train traffic control and management at railway stations and mainline sections. Its main purpose is to increase train safety and the level of integration with other automated systems and signaling devices in industry areas.
